I have been using voice commands almost all the time ever since I got the remote and it hasn’t disappointed me. However, I was trying to watch an episode that I had recorded earlier and I had trouble finding the Menu.

Using voice commands
The first method to pair your remote with your TV is through voice commands. In order to make this work, point your remote at the Xfinity Cable Box and press the Microphone button(also known as the voice button and say, “Program Remote”.
You can then follow the instructions displayed on the screen to move forward. If your remote does not work, troubleshoot the unresponsive buttons.
Another way is to press the A button and choose ‘Remote Setup’ on your TV. Then follow the onscreen instructions, and you’re good to go!
Using the Online Code Lookup tool
Using the Online Code Lookup tool to pair your remote is dependent on your model. Go to the ‘Remote Code Lookup Tool’ and select the Voice Remote that you own. Click on ‘Continue’ and follow the steps to program your remote.
If you were not able to find the code using the method mentioned above, check if you have a Setup button and follow the steps given below:
- Turn your TV on.
- Locate the Setup button and press it until the light on the top of your remote changes to green from red.
- Enter 9-9-1 until the light flashes green two times. If it flashes green then red, then your set-top box might not be powered on.
- Now press and hold CH^ until the TV turns off.
- Press Setup to lock in the code and then press the TV power button.
Your TV will turn on, and the remote will pair.
Some remotes don’t have a Setup button, but they will have number buttons instead. In this case, you need to follow these steps:
- Turn on your TV.
- Simultaneously press the Xfinity button and the Mute button for five seconds. You will see the light at the top change from red to green.
- Now type in the first five-digit code for the TV manufacturer.
- The remote will either blink green twice, meaning that the code was correct or blink red first followed by green, indicating that the code is wrong.
- Point the remote at the TV, and press the Power button.
- If the TV turns off, you can turn it back on and test if the volume and mute button work. If it doesn’t, you should try a different code.
If your remote doesn’t have a Setup button or number buttons, try this method:
- Turn your TV and TV Box on.
- Locate the pull tab on the back of your remote and remove it. This will activate the remote.
- Now aim the remote at your TV Box and press the Voice button.
- Follow the instructions on the screen and finish the Setup.
- If you’re already paired for voice, press the Microphone button and say the command, ‘Program remote’. Otherwise, go to the programming instructions on your remote through the Remote Settings menu.
If none of the above conditions were applicable to your remote, perform a factory reset:
- Press and hold the Info (i) button and the Home button (house icon) together for about 5 seconds until the status light on the remote flashes.
- Now press the Power button, followed by the Last (<- arrow) and then Volume Down (-) on your remote. This will complete the factory reset.
- Now you can retry pairing your remote to your TV or resetting your remote.
Using the Xfinity My Account App
To pair your remote to your TV using the Xfinity app, follow the steps given below:
- Firstly, open the Xfinity My Account App on your device and tap on the TV icon.
- Now select your TV box and then tap on Setup a remote.
- Navigate to the model that you need to program and click on continue.
- Select TV and follow the instructions on your App.
