British School Al Khubairat Achieves Record-Breaking A-Level and BTEC Results in 2024. Russell Group and Ivy League futures lie ahead of 2023-24 BSAK Students as School Hails Its “All-Inclusive Culture” (2025)

The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) has proudly announced another remarkable year of exam results and vocational qualification success, with the 2024 A-Level and BTEC results marking the highest percentages of A* and A*-C grades in the past seven years (excluding the COVID years).

This year, BSAK’s 131 Year 13 students completed 356 A-Level qualifications and 23 Level 3 BTEC Diplomas, with results that are nothing short of outstanding.

These results are a testament to the school which only recently won the Top Schools Award for Best British Curriculum School in the UAE (2023-24).

Impressive Exam Results at BSAK

An impressive 43% of all A-Level grades were awarded at A* or A, 70% at A*-B, and 90% at A*-C, culminating in a 99% pass rate. These figures include 85 A* grades, underscoring the exceptional dedication and hard work of the students. Vocational BTEC courses also shone brightly, with 93% of grades being at Distinction* or Distinction level.

The school is particularly proud of the 26 students who achieved three or more straight A*/A grades, including five students who earned three straight As and four students who achieved four straight A/A grades. These stellar results have paved the way for BSAK students to gain admission to some of the most prestigious universities around the world.

Super Exam Results Lead to Russell Group and Ivy League Futures

In the UK, BSAK students will be attending 16 of the 24 universities within the elite Russell Group, including Imperial College London, London School of Economics, King’s College London, University College London, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Bristol. Across the Atlantic, five students will attend three Ivy League schools: the University of Pennsylvania, including the Wharton Business School, Brown University, and Columbia University. Other notable US destinations include Johns Hopkins University, the University of California, San Diego, and Purdue University. Closer to home, BSAK students will be joining top UAE institutions such as NYU Abu Dhabi and Birmingham University, Dubai.

BSAK School Leaders Praise Students

Headmaster Mark Leppard MBE celebrated these accomplishments, emphasising that BSAK’s non-academically selective and all-inclusive culture makes these results even more impressive. He praised the students for their resilience and hard work, and highlighted their talents beyond academics, including public speaking, debating, sports, and the arts.

Head of Secondary, Nigel Davis, expressed admiration for the Year 13 cohort, describing them as a shining example of what makes BSAK special. He noted that these students have been outstanding role models, balancing rigorous academic studies with a wide range of activities, events, and societies, all while having fun and pursuing their dreams.

Among the standout students are:

• Sarah Simon: AAAA, with an offer to study Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh.
• Hanlei Gao: AAA*A, with an offer to study Computer Science and Mathematics at Brown University.
• Ahmed Assad: A*AAA, with an offer to study Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Warwick.
• Aryan Patni: AAAA, applying to universities in Germany to study Mathematics.
